Basketball Game Preview: Golden Sierra Grizzlies vs. Highlands Scots

Two dominant guards in Bradley Dodson and Avion Weaver are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Golden Sierra Grizzlies will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Highlands Scots at 7:30 p.m. Golden Sierra is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Golden Sierra didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lindhurst, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Ethan Caruthers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 16 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2024. Dodson was another key player, putting up 19 points and four steals.

Golden Sierra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Highlands waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 51-30 win.

Golden Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Highlands, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Golden Sierra came up short against Highlands in their previous matchup on January 3rd, falling 58-53. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards.
