After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Macon, Palmyra was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Mendon Unity Mustangs. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 9-8 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Rylan Compton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Compton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Logan Kroeger was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ty Haskins, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Palmyra's record is now 4-6. As for Mendon Unity, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Palmyra will head out to face off against Clark County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mendon Unity, they will host Hamilton/Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
