Basketball Recap: Florence Christian Piles Up the Points Against Williamsburg Academy

Florence Christian won the last time they faced Williamsburg Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Florence Christian Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Williamsburg Academy Stallions 65-38. The Eagles pushed the score to 56-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Stallions cut but never quite recovered from.

Florence Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Greene out in front who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points and seven assists. Greene's evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Sullivan Hardy was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 12 points.

Greene wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Florence Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Williamsburg Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Morris, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ard, who scored eight points.

Florence Christian's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for Williamsburg Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Florence Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-49 defeat against Pee Dee Academy on the 28th. As for Williamsburg Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-41 loss against Dillon Christian on the 28th.
