Volleyball Recap: Sophia Langan and Leni Kerkman Secure Win for Scotus

Scotus posted their closest win since November 2, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Tri County Trojans. For the Shamrocks, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Scotus got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-21.

Scotus was led to victory by Leni Kerkman and Sophia Langan. Kerkman had 14 digs, while Langan had 26 digs and four aces. Those 26 digs gave Langan a new career-high.

Scotus is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. As for Tri County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Scotus has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against St. Cecilia on the 20th. As for Tri County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Fillmore Central on the 20th.
