It was another big night for Major Davis, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Davis is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Javen Medaris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Phalen Leadership Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Mooresville Christian 84-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Phalen Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zinan Taylor led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Murry, who scored 20 points along with four steals.
The win got Irvington Preparatory Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Irvington Preparatory Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 67.8 points per game. It's a different story for Phalen Leadership Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 64.7 points per game.
