Javen Medaris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Phalen Leadership Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Mooresville Christian 84-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Phalen Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zinan Taylor led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Murry, who scored 20 points along with four steals.
The win got Irvington Preparatory Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league.
