Basketball Recap: Kam Reese's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Traders Point Christian over Riverside

The Traders Point Christian Knights came up short against the Riverside Argonauts on Tuesday, falling 58-37. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Argonauts are ranked 130th).

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kam Reese, who posted nine points and four steals. That's the most steals Reese has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakson Jones, who scored nine points.

Riverside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Torgrimson, who went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bini Hopper, who put up 11 points and five steals.

Traders Point Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Riverside, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Traders Point Christian will welcome Morristown at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Riverside, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
