Softball Recap: Harpeth Indians vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats        
        
		
            
 Harpeth fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Battle Ground Academy  on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats by a score of  7-6. Harpeth just can't catch a break and has now endured five defeats in a row.
  Anna Greer was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she  tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Greer has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Greer was even better at the plate,  firing off two  home runs and three  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Molly Lane was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.  Mattie Johnson was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 Harpeth's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Battle Ground Academy, the  win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
 Harpeth will head out on the road to  take on  Cheatham County Central at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Harpeth is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.1  runs per game  this season. As for Battle Ground Academy, they will be playing at home against Grace Christian Academy at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
