Basketball Recap: Worth County Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Worth County had won three straight home games and Jariah Williams did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Worth County Rams walked away with a 54-46 victory over the Bacon County Raiders thanks in part to Williams, who posted 23 points and seven steals. Her afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Garmon, who scored eight points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Bacon County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Makayla Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards, and Marnay'Jah Reynolds, who earned 18 points along with six assists and three steals. That was a full 39.1% of Bacon County's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Macie Holton was another key player, putting up nine points.

Worth County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Bacon County, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Worth County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-39 win against Jeff Davis on the 3rd. Bacon County has also already played their next contest, a 53-34 loss against Thomasville on the 5th.
