Basketball Recap: Crown Point Bulldogs vs. Hammond Central Wolves
Crown Point and Hammond Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Crown Point had to settle for second. They fell 45-34 to the Hammond Central Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-45 back in November of 2024.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ivy Henderson, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds. Ava Richie was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and five boards.
Hammond Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ciyah Thomas led the charge by going 9-for-16 to rack up 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
