Volleyball Game Preview: Leland Chargers vs. Del Mar Dons

The Leland Chargers will challenge the Del Mar Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Leland is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 25th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Leigh. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost six in a row.

While Leland was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Leigh's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Del Mar came up short against Piedmont Hills on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Del Mar was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-20.

Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Del Mar, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Leland came out on top in a nail-biter against Del Mar in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
