Baseball Game Preview: Green Hope Falcons vs. Cary Imps

Green Hope and Cary are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Imps at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Green Hope has five straight wins, Cary has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Green Hope's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Cary. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Dean was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Haynes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Green Hope pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Cary, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
