Volleyball Recap: Bonnabel Comes Up Short

If Bonnabel was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sarah T. Reed on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins came up short against St. Mary's Dominican on Monday, falling 3-0. The Bruins haven't had much luck with St. Mary's Dominican recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-9, 25-9.

Among those leading the charge was Molly Baker, who had 13 assists. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played. KK LaGraize also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bonnabel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for St. Mary's Dominican, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bonnabel is set to take on their familiar foe Chalmette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Mary's Dominican will square off against rival John Ehret at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
