Basketball Game Preview: Madison Central Indians vs. Lexington Catholic Knights

The Madison Central Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Lexington Catholic Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison Central will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, Madison Central beat Rowan County 48-40. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Vikings are ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nataya Strader was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 17 on her way to 25 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameryn Ridderikhoff, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lexington Catholic posted their closest win since January 23, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 victory over Garrard County.

Madison Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0. As for Lexington Catholic, their record now sits at 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Madison Central against Lexington Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 51-17 victory. In that matchup, Madison Central amassed a halftime lead of 34-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
