Softball Recap: Seattle Prep Takes a Loss

Seattle Prep couldn't beat Lincoln on Thursday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 13-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 20-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Hayden Downer and Ella Seel did some serious damage despite the final result: Downer went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Seel went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Amelie De LaPorte-Manahan, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Seattle Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Looking ahead, Seattle Prep will take on Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
