Baseball Recap: Le Mars Comes Up Short

Le Mars had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it four. They lost 11-0 to the Lincoln Lynx. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Tuesday.

As for Lincoln, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Lincoln's part, McCain Becker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Becker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Lincoln, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Devin Adler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
