            Baseball Recap: Petal Panthers vs. Oak Grove Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Petal can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oak Grove Warriors by a score of  6-4 on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
 Cooper Giger was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out seven batters over  5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. That's the fewest  hits  he has allowed since back in March.
 On the hitting side, Petal saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Layne Adams, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI. That  hit marked the first that  Adams has  got this season.
Petal's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Oak Grove, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record  this season.
As of now, neither Petal nor Oak Grove have any future games scheduled.
