Soccer Game Preview: Minford vs. Unioto

The Minford Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Unioto Shermans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Minford's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Waverly 4-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Minford considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

They hit Waverly with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jasmine Dixon, Marley Rhodes, Sadie Tieman, and Makenna Enz.

Meanwhile, Unioto had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Minford now has a winning record of 6-5-3. As for Unioto, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1.

Minford was able to grind out a solid win over Unioto in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
