Baseball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover blew Mayflower out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Mayflower got their revenge. The Pirates fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Mayflower, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dover will challenge Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are facing the Cyclones at the right time seeing as the Cyclones are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mayflower, they will take on Perryville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
