Soccer Recap: Garey Takes a Loss

Garey lost against Upland back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Garey Vikings came up short against the Upland Highlanders/Scots, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Highlanders/Scots are ranked 107th).

Garey has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Upland, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1-1.

After both having extra time off, Garey and Sierra Vista will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Upland has already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Rancho Mirage on the 23rd.
