The Wake Forest Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wake Forest will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against East Wake on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Warriors. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Lucas Stoy tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kellen Rogers, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Antonio Parrino was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Heritage made easy work of Franklinton on Tuesday and carried off a 12-2 win.
Kanen Pritchard looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Leighton Cash was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Tyler Abbe, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklinton only posted a batting average of .190.
Wake Forest's record now sits at 17-4. As for Heritage, their record is now 20-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wake Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wake Forest came up short against Heritage when the teams last played on Thursday, falling 4-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
