Volleyball Game Preview: Summit Spartans vs. Siegel Stars

The Summit Spartans will take on the Siegel Stars at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Summit can't be too worried about heading out to take on Siegel: they just beat Gallatin at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Green Wave on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Summit had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 28-26, 25-21, 25-16.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Siegel walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Blue Raiders on Thursday.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (101-97) Siegel actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Summit's victory bumped their record up to 26-8. As for Siegel, their win bumped their record up to 23-17.

Summit was able to grind out a solid victory over Siegel in their previous matchup back in August of 2022, winning 2-0. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Stars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
