Softball Recap: Fairless Drops Season-High Score on Orrville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairless). They blew past the Orrville Red Riders 24-4 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Red Riders: they've now won five in a row.

Alannah Bailey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since April 1st.

On the hitting side, Lauren Lucas was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Madison Barkan was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.

Fairless always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Fairless' victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Orrville, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coming up, Fairless will take on Canton South at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Orrville, they will be playing at home against Tuslaw at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
