Softball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 18

Sherman Oaks CES put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the East Valley Falcons 27-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 26-7 back in April.

Araceli Altamirano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-6 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Sherman Oaks CES got a massive performance out of Taylor Block, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and one double. Those eight RBI gave Block a new career-high. Nadia Cazares was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Sherman Oaks CES' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.9 runs over those games. As for East Valley, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

As of now, neither Sherman Oaks CES nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
