It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brimfield can now relate to. They fell just short of the Beecher Bobcats by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sawyer Drury put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 9.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Drury wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kendyl Binder, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Brimfield's loss dropped their record down to 33-4. As for Beecher, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 35-2.

Brimfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beecher, they will challenge Auburn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
