Baseball Game Preview: Brashear Bulls vs. Carrick Raiders

Brashear is 2-8 against Carrick since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bulls will be playing at home against the Raiders at 3:30 p.m.

Woodland Hills hit Brashear with a eight-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulls lost 12-2 to the Wolverines.

Chris Tomassi put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Tomassi was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Carrick never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Perry Traditional Academy as they made off with a 33-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Commodores: they've now won nine in a row.

Kelly Maxwell was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Geiger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Carrick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .805. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Traditional Academy only posted an OBP of .200.
