If New Albany was riding high fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Borden on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Evansville North Huskies by a score of 8-6 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since May 18, 2024.

Gavin Rand was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of New Albany's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Braden Brewer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
