Basketball Game Preview: South Barber Chieftains vs. Attica Bulldogs

South Barber is 2-8 against Attica since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Barber Chieftains will host the Attica Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Attica took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on South Barber, who comes in off a win.

South Barber took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 51-44 win over Skyline.

Meanwhile, Attica played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 82-56 to Cunningham. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

South Barber will need focus on slowing down Carter Swingle, one of several Attica players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9 of 17 en route to 24 points and eight boards. That was a full 42.9% of Attica's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Harnden, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points.

South Barber's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Attica, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

South Barber came out on top in a nail-biter against Attica in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. Does South Barber have another victory up their sleeve, or will Attica turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
