Baseball Recap: Nelsonville-York Comes Up Short

Nelsonville-York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-1 to the Wellston Golden Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on April 11th.

Nelsonville-York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Meeks, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Meeks is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played. Walker Stone was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Nelsonville-York's record is now 4-12. As for Wellston, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nelsonville-York will face off against rival Athens at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wellston is set to square off against their familiar foe Alexander at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
