Softball Recap: Harding Comes Up Short

Harding's last matchup with Bloomfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Skippers lost 17-6 to the Cardinals. The loss leaves the Skippers still looking for their first win of the season.

Jillian Justinger and Natalie Phillips did some serious damage despite the final result: Justinger went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Phillips went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jaylen Alspaugh also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bloomfield, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Harding will host Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloomfield, they will head out to square off against Grand Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
