Softball Recap: Pelham Memorial Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Pelham Memorial's offense. They lost 19-0 to the Rye Garnets on Thursday. The Pelicans just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Pelham Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Curley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Curley has snagged this season.

Pelham Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Rye, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Pelham Memorial will face off against Eastchester at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pelicans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season. As for Rye, they will head out on the road to challenge Mahopac at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
