Softball Recap: Orofino's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After flying high against Colton on Thursday, Orofino came back down to earth. The Maniacs fell 10-6 to the Wildcats on Thursday. The matchup marked the Maniacs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rilee Diffin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Deyo, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Orofino fell to 6-1. As for Colton, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Orofino will host Grangeville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Maniacs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 12.5 runs per game this season. As for Colton, they have already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against DeSales on the 4th.
