Baseball Recap: Buena Takes a Loss

Buena lost against Rio Mesa back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Mason Trigo and Brody Kaylor did some serious damage despite the final result: Trigo went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Kaylor scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Alonzo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Buena now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Rio Mesa, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-12-1 record.

While Buena had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
