Basketball Game Preview: Clovis West Golden Eagles vs. St. Joseph Knights

The Clovis West Golden Eagles will face off against the St. Joseph Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Clovis West is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since December 11, 2024 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sheldon 69-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Clovis West had a senior duo take command as Dj Stickman dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds and Michael Espinoza posted 14 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. Those eight assists gave Espinoza a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Spencer Kubit, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 95-43 win over the Eagles. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

St. Joseph pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.5 points. As for Clovis West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Clovis West lost to St. Joseph at home by a decisive 88-73 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Clovis West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
