Volleyball Recap: Liberty Charter Takes a Loss

Liberty Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the High Tech Mesa Thunder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Liberty Charter started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 25-8, 25-17.

Samaria Baron went supernova For High Tech Mesa., getting seven aces and five kills. Those seven aces gave Baron a new career-high. Kaya Helm was another key player, getting 12 kills and four aces.

Liberty Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1. As for High Tech Mesa, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Liberty Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Horizon Prep on the 16th. As for High Tech Mesa, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against High Tech CV on the 15th.
