Softball Recap: White Plains Triumphs

White Plains proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Geraldine Bulldogs 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since February 17th.

White Plains is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. The loss snapped Geraldine's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Looking ahead, White Plains will head out to face off against Alexandria at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geraldine, they will be playing at home against Pisgah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
