Soccer Recap: Whitney Comes Up Short

Whitney entered their game against Clovis North on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Whitney Wildcats fell just short of the Clovis North Broncos by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Broncos are ranked 15th).

Whitney's goal came courtesy of Timmy Jerman, which was the first he's scored this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Whitney fell to 3-1-3. As for Clovis North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-1-1 record this season.

Whitney will be taking part in a tournament against St. Augustine at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clovis North has already played their next match, a 5-0 victory against Cosumnes Oaks on the 21st.
