Basketball Recap: Killian Hill Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Justin Lian and Ronald Skeete

Killian Hill Christian was the 48-45 winner over Covington Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Killian Hill Christian had strong showings from Ronald Skeete, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and five assists, and Justin Lian, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points. That was a full 35.4% of the Cougars' points, marking the third time in a row Skeete has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Johns, who earned four points.

Cayden Williams was a one-man wrecking crew For Covington Academy. as he scored 23 points along with eight boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jackson Hardy, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Killian Hill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Killian Hill Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-47 defeat against Victory Baptist on the 2nd. As for Covington Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hearts Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 4th. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
