Soccer Game Preview: Riverside Christian vs. St. George's

Riverside Christian is 2-8 against St. George since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Crusaders will head out to challenge the Dragons at 1:00 p.m.

Riverside Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Prescott, who was ranked 18th at the time (Riverside Christian was ranked 15th). The Crusaders fell 3-1 to the Tigers on Thursday.

Meanwhile, St. George's came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lions. The game was the first time St. George's have beaten Upper Columbia Academy on their pitch since September 21, 2021.

Riverside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for St. George's, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1.

Riverside Christian might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from St. George's in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
