Football Recap: Lakes Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lakes can now relate to. They were beaten by the Kaneland Knights 68-21 on Saturday. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

When it comes to explaining why Lakes lost, don't look at Trent Miller. Despite the final result, he picked up 118 receiving yards and one score. Miller was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 68 yards.

Lakes' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Kaneland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kaneland, they will square off against Belvidere North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Thunder's defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them.
