Flag Football Game Preview: Kaiser Cats vs. Jurupa Hills Spartans

Two dominant wideouts in Valeria Guevara and Jaylene Murillo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Kaiser Cats will square off against the Jurupa Hills Spartans at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Kaiser's defense has only allowed 7.1 points per game this season, so Jurupa Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Kaiser picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They secured a 26-20 W over San Gorgonio. Given the Cats' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Spartans are ranked 348th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Jurupa Hills hadn't done well against Summit recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Spartans walked away with a 21-14 win over the SkyHawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Kaiser better keep an eye on Emelie Castrejon. She was instrumental in Jurupa Hills' win, throwing for 253 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 42 yards.

Jurupa Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Murillo and Marissa Cruz.

Kaiser's record is now 15-1. As for Jurupa Hills, their record now sits at 9-5.

Everything went Kaiser's way against Jurupa Hills in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Kaiser made off with a 32-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
