Mater Dei came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They escaped with a win against the Breese Central Cougars by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 45-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mater Dei pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Breese Central, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.
