It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cranston West had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the Portsmouth Patriots. The victory was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on six straight.

The critical scores for Cranston West came from Jake Anzivino and Mehkhai Taylor.

Defeat or not, Portsmouth got some senior leadership from Joe Sanderson and Adam Conheeny. Sanderson rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown, while Conheeny rushed for 85 yards on only 11 carries.

Cranston West's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Portsmouth, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Cranston West will head out to challenge La Salle Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portsmouth, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Middletown at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
