Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Richmond Oilers
The Eureka Loggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Richmond 75-13 at home. The win was familiar territory for Eureka who now have three in a row.
Eureka was led to victory by Will Mooney and Henry Chen. Mooney scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Chen scored 12 points. Chen also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Lyons, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Eureka pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Richmond, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Eureka and McKinleyville will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully McKinleyville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. Richmond will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Albany at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
