Softball Recap: East Hamilton's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

East Hamilton waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Cleveland Blue Raiders with a sharp 13-4 win. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Yulai Woodruff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Madilyn Evans was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jada Rutley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

East Hamilton pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Cleveland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-15 record this season.

As of now, neither East Hamilton nor Cleveland have any future games scheduled.
