Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Falls Despite Big Games from Hailey Cochran and Ariana Hardy

Lutheran lost against Sherwood back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Knights fell just short of the Marksmen by a score of 3-2. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Marksmen 25-20 in the first set.

Lutheran started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-12, 15-12.

Lutheran's loss came despite strong showings from Ariana Hardy and Hailey Cochran. Hardy had 16 digs and one assist, while Cochran had eight digs and two aces. That assist marked the first that Hardy has posted this season.

Lutheran has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Sherwood, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Lutheran has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Maranatha Christian Academy on the 2nd. As for Sherwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hume on the 2nd.
