While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, East Central was not quite Canyon's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Canyon Cougars by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

East Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-3. As for Canyon, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 7-3-2.
