Basketball Recap: West Allegheny Comes Up Short

West Allegheny lost against Peters Township back in December of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The West Allegheny Indians fell 56-45 to the Peters Township Indians. While losing is never fun, West Allegheny can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Peters Township is ranked 97th).

West Allegheny's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Peters Township, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

West Allegheny will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Laurel Highlands at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Laurel Highlands is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season. As for Peters Township, they will venture away from home to square off against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Peters Township is facing Trinity at the right time seeing as Trinity is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
