Basketball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Comes Up Short

Archbishop Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Bishop O'Connell Knights at home by a 59-44 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 87th in District of Columbia, while the Knights are ranked 18th in Virginia).

Archbishop Carroll's record is now 0-6. As for Bishop O'Connell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Archbishop Carroll will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Our Lady of Good Counsel at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Bishop O'Connell will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Elizabeth Seton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
