Springfield took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Napoleon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Friday, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Wildcats since May 11, 2019.

Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Napoleon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Springfield will face off against rival Clay at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Napoleon is set to take on their familiar foe Southview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
