Recap: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Kinston Vikings

The South Lenoir Blue Devils lost against the Kinston Vikings on January 11th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Lenoir fell 47-39 to Kinston.

South Lenoir's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyazhia Midgett, who scored six points along with three steals. Midgett hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Gracie Tyndall was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

South Lenoir has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Kinston, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will take on Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kinston, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Hanover at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. New Hanover presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kinston in North Carolina (New Hanover is ranked 53rd, while Kinston is ranked 234th).
